NOVEMBER 20, 2007:  On Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007 the Rising Sun Volleyball Team won the Maryland Class 2A State Volleyball Title by defeating North Hagerstown 3-2. They were the Class 1A champions last year.

Members of the team are:  (SENIORS) Jen Li, Aly McQuitty, Selena Ortega-Marvel, Amy Rudolph; (JUNIORS) Lauren Benham, Alyssa Bowers, Ashley Gilbert, Danielle Hill, Cassidy McMullin, Lindsey Monger; (SOPHOMORES) Eden McMillan, Nikki Snyder; (FRESHMEN)  Sissie Crawford, Whitney Foard; (COACH) Rich Wilson; (ASST. COACHES) Brad Luff, Erin Van Dyke.

NOVEMBER 12, 2007:  Rising Sun field hockey team won it's fourth STATE CROWN on Monday, November 12 by defeating Century High School  2-0.  Monday's shutout caps a postseason run for the Tigers who outscored their opponents 20-1 in the playoffs.  On October 17 the Tigers won their first UCBAC crown by defeating Bel Air 3-1. 

The Tigers are lead by seniors:  Christine Adkins, Kelly Allaband, Philippine Audoussett, Whitney Deihl, Becca Guethler, Molly Harrington, Whitney Reid, and Becky Willert. Juniors: Katie Bauguess, Sara Culver, Erica Hostettler, Niki Juliano, Ashley Laws, Jena McCartan, and Caroline Sweeney. Sophomores: Hannah Castelow, Maddy Cebula,  Lindsey Sopa, Kelly Steen and Freshman Dana Allaband.

NOVEMBER 2007:  The Rising Sun Girl's Varsity Volleyball Team earned the Maryland Class 2A East Region Title on Friday, November 11, 2007 by defeating previously unbeaten North Caroline 3-0. They will play in the Maryland Class 2A State Semifinals at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the University of Maryland's Ritchie Coliseum.  BEST WISHES ON CONTINUED SUCCESS LADIES!
